An arrest warrant is expected to be issued against Auction Alliance CEO Rael Levitt on Tuesday morning as it is unlikely he will appear before the National Consumer Commission (NCC) because he is currently travelling in the United States (US).

Levitt has already been found guilty of bid rigging and fraud after he planted a ghost bidder at an auction in an effort to drive up the price of a Stellenbosch wine farm.

The property sold for R45 million.

The commission however wants more answers to complete its investigation.

Levitt failed to appear at three previous hearings and Commissioner Mamodupi Mohlala told Eyewitness News that enough is enough.

“We have the right to subpoena any individual with documents that are necessary to help with the investigation.”
