They, it would seem, are hellbent on creating a government run and tax payer financed NH programme.
I don't know yet whether their puppet might have any original ideas in this regard?. Paceman"); document.write("

National Health
"); document.write("Believe me you are way off anything like a UK National Health service which is of a much higher standard for the majority than SA private practice....

Some form of National scheme is needed///especially in primary health care even if it means 5% more tax per annum. Kev"); document.write("
National healthcare in the first world worse than private health care in SA
"); document.write("I am a medical professional working in Canada and have quite a few friends working in the UK health system. The national health systems in these countries are much worse than the private health system in SA. The only good thing, is that it is free. But considering the amount of tax paid in these countries, that's not even true. The waiting times for surgery and certain treatments are more than two years. Hospitals have no incentives to have the best equipment or fasillities as clients do not have a choice as to which hospital they want to go to. Competition in the healthcare system is much needed. And these countries have huge health care budgets. These are countries that have good infrastucture and governments are actually providing good services in other areas. I can only imagine what a national health care system in SA would look like with a government that is struggeling with basic services, and it is not a pretty picture. Doc. "); document.write("
