I have lived in Bahrain (4 years), San Francisco (15 months), Saudi Arabia (4 years) and now Dubai (from July 2006) since I left South Africa when I qualified in 1996. There are many accountants in the Middle East earning a lot more than what we could earn back in South Africa. A lot of accountants, I suspect, are very happy living in the Middle East and plan to work here for the rest of their careers. Regards from sunny Dubai.. Charles A");

1. SAICA is only but one of the players in the accountancy industry and
what ever they say will be focussed on empired building and raising

2. IRBA is supposed to be an independent organisation yet they are allowed
to set the FQE 2 exams for SAICA and to date they have only accredited
SAICA only: why?
3. There are other equally competent organisation which are at the same
level as CA SA namely: CIMA, ACCA and other CAs from other countries;
these guys are meant to help with addressing the problem at hand yet no
one talks to the:
In the UK where the CA Brand comes from, there are six organisations under
the CCAB that work together to sort out shortages yet in South Africa
there is only one organisation which is the player and the referree. Accountant");

I have great respect for SAICA but at such a time like this, the focus should not be on individual accountancy bodies but on working together to alliviate the problem.. Accountant");
