We get taxed to death, our rates have been pushed rediculously high, basic services cost a small fortune eg. I just paid a R6,500 'water contribution' fee to UGU before I could have a water line installed so that people in the townships can leave taps on to flood the streets, THEN I paid for my own connection and water. What BS is this? <br /><br />I have also just been told I must pay R4,000 rates a year for a small vacant plot with no road access, public sewerage, street lights, power lines or garbage disposal. There are a growing number of us who follow the convention of tipping waiters, tipping the pizza delivery guy, the car guard, etc... I even support charities. And I agree that seldom do I see black people tipping. Although I have to admit it that initially it was a strange custom for me, since I don't come from an environment that promoted it.
