South African Airways could be investigated by the Competition Commission after Imperial Logistics accused it of uncompetitive practices in the overnight freight market.
According to a Fin24 report, Imperial Logistics wrote to the commission requesting the investigation on its rival.
"It is a small market that is highly price-sensitive, and if you've only got two players, it doesn't work if one player is not commercially sensitive [to market pressures]," Imperial Logistics' integration officer Cobus Rossouw was quoted as saying.
Rossouw claimed that the company had to survive on tight profit marging to stay afloat in contrast to SAA which was government backed.
SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali said that had not had any contact from the commission over the matter.
