African National Congress (ANC) delegates who reject the second transition proposals are doing the right thing, Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) General Secretary Zwelinzima Vavi said on Wednesday.
The trade union federation heavyweight also called for the ANC's Policy Conference to ensure there is radical economic change rather than just talk of change.
President Jacob Zuma has been pushing what he calls second transition proposals.
Vavi said debates around the issue are on-going, “Everybody talks about a second transition and people are dismissing that concept, correctly in my view.
“But all of them say we must embrace a radical policy shift.”
Meanwhile, the ANC is expected to explain on Thursday whether its delegates have accepted or rejected a plan to pay job seekers an allowance.
