The deadline for Johannesburg residents to query the evaluation of their properties has been extended, the city said in a statement on Friday.
Spokesman Gabu Tugwana said the cut-off date had been moved from June 29 to July 29.
He said the city received appeals from residents who complained that they did not receive their letters timeously on the new Supplementary Valuation Roll because of the recent Post Office strike.
They also contended that the web page for submissions on the City's website was not user-freindly.
He said residents would be given an opportunity to do walk-ins at regional offices from July 2.
"Valuations personnel will be able to assist customers who wish to inspect the roll and lodge objections at all the walk-in-centres at the City's regional offices in two weeks."
"They can also come direct at our valuation services Metropolitan Center in Braamfontein A-Block, 4th floor."
