The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) on Wednesday called for an investigation into a possible link between e-tolling and the companies involved in the arms deal.
Discussions on the internet alleged that there was a connection between the companies involved in South Africa's arms deal and the company that runs the controversial e-tolling system.
“We don’t have any inside information and so we can only call for a full investigation,” said Cosatu's Patrick Craven.
“It may have to form part of the investigation already taking place around the arms deal and it must be established who was to benefit from the e-tolls.”
