The South African Petroleum Industry Association (Sapia) on Monday said it was concerned about the Transnet strike?s possible impact on fuel supply, as the industrial action enters a third week.
With 17 days to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, there are fears South African pumps could start running dry if the mass action persists.
The South African Municipal Workers? Union (Satawu) rejected the parastatal?s 11 percent wage offer last week, while fellow union United Transport and Allied Trade Union (Utatu) accepted it.
The South African Petroleum Industry Association?s Avhapfani Tshifularo said there was a growing concern over supply.
"Transnet contingency plans are also assisting and our member companies also have contingency plans, however we are concerned that the strike is entering week three," said Tshifularo.
