A warehouse filled with suspected counterfeit 2010-related clothing was found in Durban on Wednesday, the SA Revenue Service (Sars) said.
Sars officials and the police were acting on a tip-off about a truck "delivering suspicious goods" to a warehouse in Durban's Victoria street, Sars said in a statement.
"Sars customs officials and the police visited the warehouse and found the truck offloading goods. The owners of the store failed to provide Customs Bills of Entries or any documentation relating to the goods," Sars said.
Due to the lack of documentation, the goods were confiscated.
They included "Fifa-related" Bafana Bafana football jerseys and training jackets as well as England football Jerseys, Nike and Puma sport apparel, Kaizer Chief supporters' jerseys and designer clothing.
Supporters' jerseys for England, Brazil, France and Portugal were also found and are still being catalogued by officials.
