The Young Communist League said on Monday its relationship with the African National Congress Youth League was healthy despite an ongoing spat between the two organisations.
The YCL and the communist party both want ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema to make a public apology for calling Deputy Transport Minister Jeremy Cronin 'a white Messiah'.
Malema made the comment after Cronin recently criticised his ongoing calls to nationalise the country's mines.
There was speculation Malema had a fall out with YCL leader Buti Manamela but the Young Communist League's Gugu Ndima said that was not true.
"They still have a very good relationship. This is the nature of politics, there will always be disagreements but it has nothing to do with their personal relationship," said Ndima.
