Eskom denied reports by Radio 702 on Wednesday that it was considering dropping its proposed tariff increase by 10 percent from 45 percent.
"I don't know where that comes from," said spokesman Andrew Etzinger.
"We are in the process of consolidating inputs received from a variety of stakeholders and in part from [the SA Local Government Association] and National Treasury."
It would submit its final application to the National Energy Regulator by next Friday.
"At this stage it would be premature to speculate about any change to the price application that we have put forward already... the outcome is not known at the moment."
