Eskom chief executive officer Jacob Maroga has told Eyewitness News he has not been asked to resign by the company?s board.

The Business Day newspaper reported on Friday it was told by several sources that the board asked him to leave because it did not want to fire him.

Maroga refused to be interviewed but said no such request was made.

He has been under fire for his coal procurement procedures after a period of planned power cuts.
