Dr Benny Mokaba has resigned as executive director of Sasol, the company said on Wednesday.

The resignation comes into effect from 14 October 2009, Sasol said in a statement.

Mokaba would leave the employment of the company on 1 January 2010.

"However, Dr Mokaba has agreed to make some of his time available in 2010 to render consultancy services to Sasol on selected projects," the company said.

"I would like to thank Benny for his contribution to Sasol over the past years and wish him all the best for the future," said Sasol chief executive Pat Davies.
