A mine worker at Gold Fields Kloof mine near Westonaria has died after a rockfall, the National Union of Mineworkers said on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Lesiba Seshoka said the miner died on Monday.

Seshoka reiterated Num's call for the release of a Presidential safety audit report.

"Num believes that the release of the report is long overdue and that the report is likely to bring all parties up to speed with the state of safety in South African mines," he said.
