The Energy Department has announced a slight petrol price increase which will come into effect on Wednesday.
The price increases were a result of increases of petroleum products and oil in international markets, according to EWN.
Petrol will be up between eight and eleven cents while diesel will cost between 41 and 42 cents per litre and paraffin will be up by 43 cents a litre.
Economist Lullu Krugel said: "We’re seeing some wild swings in the exchange rate over the last couple of weeks, mostly as a result of Brexit. So unfortunately that has impacted the markets in terms of exchange rate volatility and the prices of resources."
The AA also said the weakening rand against the dollar would continue to affect the prices.
