European stocks ended mixed on Tuesday with London falling 0.29 percent to 3900.25 points amid some signs of optimism on the US economy but continuing investor concerns about the crisis.

The Dax index in Frankfurt rose by 0.86 percent to 4223.29 and the Cac 40 in Paris also inched up 0.66 percent to 2893.45, as shares on Wall Street also rose after an unexpected jump in durable goods orders in the United States.
