US producer price inflation (PPI) levels recorded during February were 1.4% lower than those of the previous month. This fall was mainly as result of lower energy and food prices.
In February, lower energy prices assisted US consumer inflation data to decelerate remarkably. The 0.1% m-o-m increase was in line with market expectations but 0.6% lower than the January reading.
