The rand made strong advances in noon trade on Wednesday as the dollar felt the heat from the market.
At 12.00am the rand was bid at 7.2535 to the dollar from 7.3097 at its previous close.
It was bid at 10.8375 to the euro from its previous close of 10.8585.
Against sterling it was bid at 11.6258 from 11.6243 before.
At 11.32am gold was quoted at $1064.80 an ounce.
