Eskom has shut down one of its units at the Koeberg Power Station in Western Cape, the company said on Saturday.

Spokesperson Fani Zulu said Koeberg's unit two was closed down on Friday because of a technical fault.

"It will take two weeks to effect the necessary repairs."

Zulu said residents would not be affected by power cuts during the repair period.
