A coalition of Western Cape rights organisation on Tuesday said Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan must tax the rich to give people land and provide the masses with jobs.
Organisations including farm workers rights group Sikhulesonke and backyard dwellers protested outside Parliament on Tuesday night.
Several provincial women, many of them unemployed, say the budget is more often than not prejudicial towards them.
Community worker, Yusrah Adams, said she feels the budget empowers the rich and leaves the poor and unemployed behind.
She said she wanted a budget that would ensure money was distributed equally and that social grants were increased above few Rands, they get extra every year.
