The retail price of fuel will decrease at the beginning of January, the department of energy said on Thursday.
Spokeswoman Thandiwe Maimane said the price of 95 octane petrol would decrease by 15 cents per litre and 93 octane by 13 cents per litre.
The cost of diesel with 0.05 sulphur octane would decrease by 27 cents per litre and diesel with 0.005 sulphur octane by 28 cents per litre.
The price of illuminating paraffin would decrease by 17 cents per litre and liquid petroleum gas by nine cents per kilogram.
The price changes would be effected from 2 January.
