The price of petrol 93 ULP and LRP petrol will rise by four cents per litre, while the price of petrol 95 ULP and LRP will increase by five cents per litre on Wednesday next week.

The energy department on Friday said the wholesale price of diesel with a 0.05 percent sulphur content would drop by three cents per litre, as would diesel with a 0.005 percent sulphur content.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin would decline by one cent a litre, while the single maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin would also drop by one cents a litre.

A litre of 95 ULP in Gauteng would now cost R8.12 per litre.

During the period under review — 27 August 2010 to 30 September 2010 — the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increased, the department said.
